Location
Volnay is one of the famous village appellations of the Côte de Beaune produced on hillsides and located just below Pommard.
Soil The soils of this appellation are brown clay-limestone from the Middle Jurassic on slopes exposed to the East.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Fermentation in open thermoregulated vats at 28/30 °C with punching down. Aging in oak barrels (30% new barrels) for 14 to 16 months.
Robe Beautiful deep ruby color.
Nose The nose is mainly focused on red berry aromas while also revealing some vegetal nuances of undergrowth.
Palate Elegant on the palate, it showcases fruity aromas evolving over the years towards sweet spice aromas with a slight hint of pepper. It has a beautiful structure with a lot of volume.
Serve with Classic pairing: Pork carpaccio with pink berries. Unusual pairing: Beef tournedos with green pepper sauce.
Serve at Service temperature: between 15-16°C.
Cellaring potential To be enjoyed within 3 to 5 years and beyond.
