Location
Located at the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, Meursault is one of the Côte-d’Or’s most famous villages.
Soil The soil is composed of calcareous clay and white marl. These Premier Cru vines grow on slopes that face east and southeast in the southern part of Meursault known as Charmes-Dessus.
Grape variety 100 % Chardonnay.
Vinification Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled tanks at 20°C. Aged on the lees and stirred in oak barrels (35 to 40% new oak) for 14 to 16 months to lend complexity to the wine.
Robe Beautiful straw yellow in colour with golden highlights.
Nose The first nose features delicate floral nuances of linden blossom and lemon verbena, a touch of citrus (candied lemon) while aromas of brioche surface at the end.
Palate Gorgeous round, velvety mouthfeel. The finish is evocative of the aromas perceived on the nose with a delicate hint of vanilla.
Serve with This wine is a fine match for scallop carpaccio with hazelnut oil, scampi risotto or chestnut-stuffed capon. It may also be served with full-flavoured cheeses such as Reblochon, Mont-d’or, or Langres.
Serve at Serve between 12 and 14°C to best appreciate this wine’s freshness and roundness.
Cellaring potential From 5 to 15 years.
