Great appellation of the Côte de Nuits, both in size and in reputation, Gevrey-Chambertin is characterized by a great diversity of terroirs.
Soil Brown calcareous soils, marls, scree, red silts
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Manual harvesting, sorting of grapes upon arrival at the winery. Fermentary maceration in thermoregulated wooden vats for 18 to 21 days. Aging in oak barrels (35% new barrels) for 14 to 16 months.
Nose Deep bouquet combining aromas of red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry...) with subtle woody and spicy notes that evolve over time towards more animal notes (musk, fur).
Palate Full and velvety, this wine is also finely structured, giving it a good balance. Its finish, with the fruity notes of the initial nose, is persistent.
Serve with Classic pairing: Duck tournedos with blackcurrant. Unusual pairing: Truffle risotto.
Serve at Service temperature: between 15-16°C.
Cellaring potential To be enjoyed within 5 to 7 years or more.
