Counted among one of the most beautiful appellations of the Côte de Nuits and benefiting from the reputation of its pinot noir, Gevrey-Chambertin is characterized by a great diversity of terroirs.
Soil The vineyards benefit from marls covered with scree and red silts coming from the plateau on calcareous and brown limestone soils with an exposure to the east, southeast, and east.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Vinification in open thermoregulated vats at 28/30 °C with punching down. Aging in oak barrels (30% new barrels) for 14 to 16 months.
Robe Beautiful ruby color with cherry nuances.
Nose On the nose, its bouquet reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruits with a smoky hint that evolves towards roasted and undergrowth notes.
Palate The palate is well-structured with a certain sweetness and a delicately spicy finish with cinnamon and a hint of licorice.
Serve with Classic pairing: Mustard chicken. Unconventional pairing: Spiced wild boar stew.
Serve at Serving temperature: 16-17°C.
Cellaring potential You can drink this wine now or keep it for 5 to 7 years.
