Location
Located between Beaune and Volnay, Pommard is one of the most famous villages in the Côte de Beaune for its red wines.
Soil The red-brown soil is rich in hard limestone. The slopes are steep and offer very favourable eastern and southeastern exposure.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled open vats (28/30°C) with regular punching of the cap followed by 12 to 14 months ageing in oak barrels with at most 15% new oak.
Robe Lovely deep red in colour with garnet tinges.
Nose Fine and round with aromas of cherry and plum, a touch of violet and some toasted notes.
Palate Endowed with magnificent intensity, this wine is fleshy and full-bodied boasting lasting flavours that finish on a note of cinnamon.
Serve with Ideal with finely prepared red meat dishes and many types of game. This Pommard is a perfect match for veal chops with pearl onions, partridge terrine or roast young wild boar with Port. It is also well suited to most cheeses such as Délice de Bourgogne, Saint-Félicien or Cantal entre-deux.
