Location
Located between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Rock of Solutré, the hills of the Mâconnais region stretch across approximately 40 kilometres and are bordered by the Saône and Grosne rivers in southern Burgundy.
Soil The vineyards face primarily east and southeast with soil that is calcareous clay-based with granitic incursions.
Grape variety 100 % Gamay.
Vinification Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled open vats (28/30°C) with regular punching of the cap followed by 12 to 14 months ageing in oak barrels with at most 15% new oak.
Robe Beautiful ruby red with raspberry coloured highlights.
Nose The nose boasts gorgeous red berry aromas such as strawberry and raspberry.
Palate A well-balanced, fleshy, smooth wine with subtle peppery notes of spices.
Serve with Serve this wine with slow-cooked poultry or veal dishes. Pair with rabbit in mustard sauce, chicken thighs with paprika and pink peppercorns or roast veal with parmesan cream sauce. Opt for mild cheeses such as Brie or Saint-Nectaire.
Serve at 14 to 16°C.
