In the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the Clos de Vougeot alone occupies a large part of the commune of Vougeot, between Chambolle-Musigny and Flagey-Echezeaux; it is a walled vineyard of 50 hectares, 80 owners, and above all a unique terroir!
Soil On brown limestone scree soils and brown calcareous scree soils with plots facing East/South-East.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Traditional Burgundian vinification in open vats with punch-downs and long maceration. Aging in oak barrels (50% new barrels) for 16 to 18 months.
Robe Magnificent intense ruby red dress with garnet reflections.
Nose On the nose, its bouquet reveals a floral dominance: rose, violet or mignonette with a varied aromatic palette of small red and black fruits evolving towards licorice and tea.
Palate Fleshy on the palate, with a beautiful texture and velvety tannins. Intensely long finish... Great aging potential.
Serve with Classic pairing: Venison with grand veneur sauce. Unusual pairing: Grilled lamb chops with mint and coriander.
Serve at Service temperature: between 16-17°C.
Cellaring potential Long aging wine: 7 to 10 years and more.
