Location
Savigny-Les-Beaune is an old, typically Burgundian winegrowing village located a stone’s throw north of Beaune.
Soil The soil is gravelly and composed of calcareous clay. The vines grow on slopes that face east/southeast.
Grape variety 100% Chardonnay.
Vinification Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled tanks at 20°C. Aged on the lees and stirred in oak barrels (25 to 30% new oak) for 12 to 14 months.
Robe Beautiful brilliant pale yellow in colour.
Nose Features nuances of yellow fruit such as peach and apricot with subtle hints of citrus fruits.
Palate Fresh and silky with harmonious fruit flavours, ending on a mineral note.
Serve with This wine would be perfect with tarragon-scented poussin, scallops in saffron cream sauce or salmon en papillote. Enjoy with mild, creamy cheeses such as Chaource and Brie de Meaux or with fresh goat’s cheese.
Serve at Serve between 12 and 14°C to best appreciate this wine’s freshness and roundness.
