Location
Famous throughout for its white wines, these vineyards lie adjacent to those of Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south.
Soil The slopes face east/southeast and the soil is composed of clay and marl overlying hard Jurassic limestone, which lends lovely minerality to the wine.
Grape variety 100 % Chardonnay.
Vinification Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled tanks at 20°C. Aged on the lees and stirred in oak barrels (25 to 30% new oak) for 12 to 14 months.
Robe Beautiful, brilliant crystalline yellow in colour.
Nose The first nose is reminiscent of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) with a touch of lemon and a hint of lemon verbena.
Palate Endowed with lovely harmony, this wine’s fruity, delectable flavours are enhanced by pleasing roundness and nice freshness on the finish.
Serve with As enjoyable with poultry dishes as well as with all types of seafood, this choice wine may be served alongside lemongrass-scented cod, seafood risotto or salmon tartare with citrus fruits and ginger. As for cheese, it would be well suited to goat’s cheeses, Reblochon or Brie de Meaux.
Serve at Serve between 12 and 14°C to best appreciate this wine’s freshness and roundness.
