Location
The vineyard from where the grapes are sourced is located in the western part of Ladoix-Serrigny where the Côte de Nuits meets the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy’s Côte-D’Or.
Soil The soil is composed of marly limestone with a small proportion of clay. The vines grow at the foot of the slope that faces east or southeast.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled open vats (28/30°C) with regular punching of the cap followed by 12 to 14 months ageing in oak barrels with at most 15% new oak.
Robe Beautiful bold red in colour with ruby highlights.
Nose This wine’s bouquet showcases aromas of stone fruits such as sour cherry and black cherry, which are subtly enhanced by toasted notes and a touch of nutmeg.
Palate Soft on the palate, the well-structured tannins are fine and discrete. The finish features a slight hint of pink peppercorns.
Serve with This wine is a fine match for cured ham such as Italian prosciutto di Parma or Spanish pata negra as well as meat and poultry curries, antipasti and marinated vegetables. As for cheeses, opt for mild varieties such as Reblochon or the Burgundian Délice de Pommard and Cîteaux.
Serve at 14 to 16°C.
Cellaring potential From 3 to 5 years.
