Location
A great Côte de Nuits appellation in terms of both surface area and fame, Gevrey-Chambertin is unique for the diversity of its terroirs, which are planted exclusively with Pinot Noir.
Soil Our vines are planted on the slopes that border the mouth of the Combe de Lavaux valley, with exposure ranging from southeast to east. The soil is shallow and predominantly brown limestone-based at the top of the slope, calcic brown towards the bottom and is rich in clay overlying a limestone base.
Grape variety 100 % Pinot Noir.
Vinification Aged in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and fruity flavours of the varietal and oak barrels (30 to 40% new oak) in our cellars for 8 to 12 months to lend structure and complexity to the wine.
Robe Beautiful intense ruby red with cherry coloured highlights.
Nose Predominant aromas of fresh red fruit (redcurrant, cherry, raspberry) underpinned by a touch of mild spice.
Palate All fruit and freshness with beautiful length on the finish. A wine with a great deal of potential.
Serve with Enjoy this wine with choice cuts of beef, leg of lamb or calf’s liver deglazed with raspberry vinegar. When it comes to cheese, mild cheeses such as Chaource or the local Cîteaux are good choices. For dessert, serve it with pears in blackcurrant syrup or chocolate mousse accompanied by orange granita.
Serve at 15 to 16 °C.
Cellaring potential From 5 to 10 years.
